Welcome to my college portfolio! The purpose of this portfolio for now is to provide a view into my journey of learning how to speak Spanish. This site will include two classes: SPAN101 and SPAN102 which I am taking over the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. Learning Spanish will help open more doors throughout my engineering career. It will also allow me opportunities to travel abroad more and see the world in person. I know that this will be a challenge, but it is one that I am willing to take on and eventually succeed at.
My main goal for this page, is to convert this into my college journey with the hopes of this inspiring people my age (40+) to get over the fear of taking classes and working a full-time job. Thank you, Old Dominion University, for giving me the opportunity to go to school and finally get an engineering degree.
ABOUT ME
I am 42 years old, and I have been married for a little over 17 years to my wife, Sara. We live in Mooresville, NC which is north of Charlotte. We do not have any kids, but we do have a 7-year-old rat terrier named Mason Dixon. I work for a filter company called Akoustis Technologies as a RF technician that takes care of all of the evaluation builds and the characterization testing for the passband filters. I am on my final year at Old Dominion University, and I am working on a bachelor's in electrical engineering technology, with a focus on radio frequency (RF). My long-term goals include getting my bachelor's degree, taking the Fundamentals of Engineering exam to eventually become a professional engineer, and giving back to the community college that helped begin this journey into engineering.
